"Tales of the Unexpected" is back with a new twist: show open titles that are as unpredictable and intriguing as the stories they introduce.
About the Original Show:
"Tales of the Unexpected" (Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected) was a classic British television series that delighted viewers with its blend of sinister undertones, wryly comedic elements, and unexpected twist endings.
This title sequence was compiled from stock footage, as was the audio track. I made the original edit in Premiere Pro, then replaced it with an After Effects composition so that I could add, er, effects. After.
This video more closely follows the styleframes that I originally made. This was done in After Effects, and I imported the Photoshop styleframes. The inspiration for those frames came from the initial moodboard that I put together. As a sort of case study, I include both the board and the frames below. First, the moodboard:

And here are the styleframes. These were all done in Photoshop, with a little bit of Illustrator work too.
