LET'S BE BRIEF

The client asked for an app with 'no frills'. They wanted a clean and minimalistic feel to the design, in fact the exact words used in the brief were - 'less is more'.
This client had not worked with a UI/UX designer before, so they had not prepared any of the information that one usually receives regarding UX research. Coupled with that, their request was an urgent one, so I saw this as an opportunity to work within that constraint.
The client had requested that I deliver hi-fidelity wirefames for at least 5 screens so that they could pitch their idea to potential investors.
The design had to be functional.

I took inspiration from the well-established Field Notes brand for the look and feel of the design, and the elements within were largely inspired by those that I personally found useful in other like-minded applications.
By incorporating these considerations and working within Apple's design guidelines, I hopefully came up with something new, intuitive and usable.
And here is the prototype in action.
